Breathe In Breathe Out...Take Away All Doubt.

Just BREATHE they screamed...
BREATHE...
As the sound became fainter and fainter...
BREATHE COME ON YOU CAN FIGHT THIS BREATHE....
Jab...Jab...JOLT ...Jab...
BREATHE...
COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH COUGH
GAG
COUGH..
Gasp.
Blackness...
ACK What's thats smell...
Welcome to my nightmare...a reality tonight.
How it all began?
Blood on my pillow case....and then followed by coughing up blood..
So...that got me...
Hyperventilating...blacking out...gasphing for air...
To which admitted me for about 9 hours...I was fighting pleading to come home...
The deal I had to make was to take a strong regiment of drugs...be injected with drugs...I left the hospital...hardly knowing who I am...
Ask my Dearest Scribe I left him a voice mail I'm sure he could tell I was drugged.
No worries...Only the good die young..so I should live forever.
So...for me Christmas is Cancelled.
See you Next Year.

I've been TAGGED...Get It Off...GET IT OFF!!!

As Tagged By My Dearest Scribe...End of the Year Stuff.
Um...it's that time of year where we whine about the previous year...do we get cheese too???So here is my list.

Question 1: What region of the country most disgusts you now?
Well, I'm in Michigan. So I guess I'll make my thought clear- www.boycottalabamanow.com. That is all I have to say about that.

What single person or action changed your perception of a group or individual?
I'd give that honour to Bush...he is the one who has made it clear to me that I will NEVER vote for a Republican as long as I live.

What moment confirmed your worst fears about the human race?
While my Dearest Scribe made a convincing arguement for the G Man...I'd like to nominate Prop 8 Passing in California. Gotta love any prop that takes away a RIGHT granted by the Courts.

What moment reaffirmed that tiny, hidden glimmer of optimism you pretend not to have?
Hands down, November 4th 2008.

Name one thing you realized was an exercise in futility this year.
FOX News.

Who let you down the most this year?
Oh now you've done it....ripped my heart out again...leaving it throbbing on the floor. Man oh man...some friend you are....so to put it bluntly...two have let me down this year...one obviously hurting more than the other.

If this were the year you were given a “do-over,” would you use it or exchange it for some other year?
1997...would change a meeting

Was there a book or film that affected you deeply this year? If so, what?
How about a book that is coming out I haven't been this hopeful in years.

Did anything become an addiction for you this year? If so, what and why?
Wow. I just admit to you my addiction and now you want me to tell the world...nooooooooooooooo.

What if anything about this year do you sincerely hope carries over into 2009?
Heh wouldn't you like to know.

I know one thing my Dearest Scribe hopes doesn't carry over into 2009 my blantant cynical-ness about everything and anything....that's what happens when your heart gets ripped out

Daggers and other weapontry

Daggers. I am amazed at the degree of deceit that some will go to throw the daggers that hurt the most.
It can be as simple as a lie found out.
It can be as hard as someone you trust selling you out in the worst of ways. It's almost emotional blackmail. The one who knows your deepest secrets, fears, joys expects you not to ever walk away for fear of revelations.

Strength.
How can one find strength when they don't feel strong enough to stand up for their own morals or standards?

Heart.
Why do some treat it like a toy that can be tossed aside and replaced with a simple flick of the hand?

Truth.
When did it become ok to leave out/omit details that would lead the one to truth?

Emotion.
Is it ok not to be happy?

Friendship.
When did friendship mean get close to one so you can hurt them the most if they ever betray you. As the saying goes...keep your friends close but your 'frememies' closer.

Weapontry.
Why is the weapon of choice when it comes to the heart always seem to be a dagger to cut it out?

Daggers.
The shaper the better no?

Thankful or Not...It's Thanksgiving Everybody.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving...and taking a cue from my Dearest Scribe I will post what I am thankful for this year thus far:

~Thankful for my family--we may not always get along but at least at this point everyone is healthy.

~Thankful for my cats--Baby Sherlock is looking better every single day. Here's hoping everything stays in remission.

~ Thankful that the country as a whole got it right and voted for the BEST candidate.

~ Thankful that I did pass the CMA.

~ Thankful that my Red Wings are the Stanley Cup champs...that doesn't mean they have to win every single game during the regular season.

Ok...so how about what I'm NOT Thankful for...

~ Not thankful for the weather.

~ Not thankful for some of my friends who have made my life hell.

~ Not thankful for my allergies taht kick my butt on a regular basis.

~ Not thankful for how I feel at this moment.

But I do hope that you had a Happy Thanksgiving.

07 November 2008

Wow...so ok to start to try and catch up...

It seems like forever since I've graced the halls of my blog...but I have been VERY busy...

Going to give an insight to the last couple of weeks...even my Dearest Scribe hasn't been able to see me until recently. So to begin...

Halloween--what great weather we had for Halloween. It was the mid 60's very unusual for October.

Creature creating was fun...which caused for lack of trick or treaters...to scared to come to my door LOL'n.

-----------------------------------------------------------
November 4th 2008!
Next We have the landmark day of November 4th 2008---a day of change, hope and any other word to describe a miracle. I decided this year to work as an election poll worker. Where I was at people were lined up an hour before we got there...and by the time we opened the lines were out into the street. That wasn't the shocking part. The shocking part was the "challengers" that were there...we had 4 of which were right behind me. They represented the Repubs, The Dems, The Lawyers Assoc, The ACLU, and to my amazement...no provisional ballots, no challenges, nothing. Just 1302 voters...happily voting.I was moved by some of the first time voters who took time to talk to me about why they were voting. Our polling center would cheer all 1st time voters--I kept commenting I didn't think I'd do my Red Wings cheer anywhere but at a Wings game. But we did and we cheered a lot that day. In Michigan I'm glad all the proposals passed. I was FOR expanding stem cell research--the mere thought that we can abolish sickle cell anemia is enough for me. But enough on that thought. Just was a long long night.

07 October 2008

Hmmmm...No...Hmmmmm...Maybe...Hmmmm.

Since the Prez debate will be mind boggling enough I thought I'd throw this out there. This sign was in the trunk of a car I had to drive while mine was at the dealership. It just humors me. So tell me what do you think it means?

Damn Insomnia Got Me In Trouble AGAIN!

By popular whine...er demand...I will finally take the time to write this story.
Most who know me ...know I have a pretty good case of insomnia. I had it under control until studying for the CMA exam...now I just don't sleep until I'm tired...8 hours a night? That's a myth right????
Ok...moving on.

So I have a usual routine at night. I usually drive to a gas station that is 24 hours...to get some drinks. I'm there almost every night to the point where I'm pretty good friends with the guy who works the night shift.
During the week I've been harassed by various police officers standing within the station. They 'attempt' to make small talk with you...while doing the basic interrogation...luckily my friend who works there kept telling them to "leave her alone."
One night while driving one of my friends called so was talking to him when I pulled into the driveway. I took the first available spot and was finishing my conversation...when out of the corner of my eye I see a glock. Not one...but two branded by some guys piling out of a white panel van. Saying to my friend on the phone CRAP...(by the way this friend on the phone is a police officer who was immediately worried) Seeing the guns I threw the car into reverse and got the hell out of dodge. I went as far as across the street to flip the car around and see just what I'm seeing.
Worried for the guy that's there I'm thinking I will be high tailing it to the police station---or going back to help him out -being a medic and all.
In watching I see 4 guys with glocks surrounding this little car.
Just as I'm about to dial 911...I see a faint Police bullet proof vest....soon after I see a visible police car pulled up lights flashing behind them.
Noticing which City it is...I still drive to the police station...they didn't have jurisdiction there...
The next night, I went back to my usual routine to talk to the guy I'm friends with. He was glad that someone was going to look out for him. He did find out it was as drug bust that went bad and the gas station was caught in the middle.
So that is the story....I didn't get shot...but was too close for comfort this time.

15 September 2008

Rain Rain Go Away......Damn It GO!

Is ANYONE sick of rain yet? How about wind? How about rain and wind and a little thunder and lightening? Maybe a tornado thrown in for good measure? Oh and did I mention flooding?? I am just sick of it all.

One Two Three Four I Can't Take No More...

Let me begin to say sorry I've been away.
But reality is kicking my ass.
First my kittans are doing well.

Second... My dad. His appendix ruptured. It was quite chaotic.
He is recovering but is suffering some complications.

Third...My good friend's child was seriously injured (Hate Crime).

Fourth...I whacked my head borderline concussion..

Fifth--I think I need to drink one...

Sixth---got a new vehicle.

When reality/karma slows down..I'll write more meaningful posts. I have some stories in waiting.

Five Little Letters That Are So Easily Lost...Trust

Following up to my "time" post.
Trust.
Why is it so hard to trust anyone these days?
When one is a child trust is easy...you trust that there is a tooth fairy, a santa claus and flying reindeer.
You trust your parents to tell you the truth.
You trust there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow...
So when the harsh realization hits and you learn the truth is subjective.
When the truth can be brutal..
And you might not be up for that battle.
And "Nothing but The Truth" apparently is also subjective.
Some have found ways around the truth by simple omition..after all what they don't know can't hurt them. But in the end it usually does hurt.
I am the first to admit I have huge issues with trust.
It takes me a long time to trust anyone..just ask my dearest Scribe whom I've known almost forever..and he still doesn't know EVERYTHING...
And the sad thing is? I don't know why I've lost so much faith in people.
So...trust...how does one gain it back...when the one you trusted the most breaks your heart?

13 August 2008

And it's all Gold for Phelps!

Congrats to Phelps the "Golden Boy" 8 for 8 he has done A2 proud. He is the most gracios champion ever. We needed a champion/hero and he fits the bill perfectly. What an amazing swim. .001 for a gold...I guess the saying always goes...even when all seems lost never give up. I haven't cheered this loudly since the Wings won the Stanley Cup!!

Boom Boom Jail Bird Mayor--Too Late To Apologize

Did you hear me cheering? WoooooooooooHoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Why? The Breaking News today at 4 PM EST was....KILPATRICK(D) TAKEN TO WAYNE COUNTY JAIL AND IS NOW AN INMATE! WOOOHOO about fricken time. Ok if it is only for one night...it's a start..and tomorrow 10 AM Attorney General Mike Cox(R who is also guilty of his own "Zippergate") is set to add more Felony charges to the list Kilpatrick already faces. It is rumored that he will be hit with Obstruction of Justice, Assault of A Court Officer, Assault of a Police Officer. The whole country is basically calling for him to resign..it can't happen soon enough.
The best thing I've heard on the radio is a montage done to One Republics Apologize the great "I'm Sorry" speach Kilpatrick did when this all broke. He who thinks he is above the law is about to find himself under it.
WOOHOO!

Update:
After a night in jail another judge released the Jail Bird on bond...with no travel.
Second case. Felony charges which Cox has stated is an open and just case which if the Kwamster is conficted will be 2 year Felony.

Detroit City Council is trying to figure out how to oust him as Mayor...Forfuture seems to be the way to go. Gov. Granholm has set a hearing for Sept 3rd.

Another day in the life of what law did he break now.

Update Part 2:Well well....what has the Mayor done now. Violated the terms of his bond with no contact to witnesses in the assault case. Well what does Jailbird do? Go to a house where his sister is..who is a witness to the case where he is to have NO CONTACT with any witness.
And news reports add they have Jailbird at a Theme Park in Canada..also a violation of his bond...
Here's hoping the AG (Cox) is in court on Monday.
Resignation sounds are getting louder...

25 July 2008

Heeeeey That's Mine!!!!

So this past week I've been house sitting for a friend of mine while he and his wife were out of town. They have two cats--one of which I helped them pick out from the humane society.
Today was my last day of feeding and brushing the cats..when ...BOOOOOOOOOOOOM! The house shook.

Startled, I dashed outside to see about half way down the block FLAMES..apparently a garage exploded (coughmethlabcouuuugh) So being a medic I ran to see if there was anything I could do..as I ran was dialing 911 on my phone.

Got to the house and the garage was burnin.

Not much to be done...once the police-fire got there I walked back to the house...only to find ..

The adorable kitten that I help the get....drinking my frosty shake.

Took a picture with my cell phone...

Thought I'd share.

Boom Boom Mayor of Detroit Update...It's Jail Baby

Here's hoping tomorrows arraignment of Mr. Kilpatrick results in his bond being revoked and he can cool is pimped out ass in jail. What has this charming leader done now? News reports this evening stated that Mr. Kilpatrick pushed TWO Court Officers (Process Servers) when they were trying to deliver a Subpoena. Now, had this been ANYONE else they would be cooling their butt in jail. Here's hoping next headline will be Kilpatrick going to JAIL.

Time keeps on ticking ..into the future

So I was chatting with someone wise when I prose'd this question. "When did time become such an evil word?" This wise person responded with "When it starts to count against us."

It really made me long for the days when time was good thing.
When time was something we sang about in a song "The Final Countdown". Time is something we want more of with the one we love. Free time, break time, over time, all things that can be a good thing.

But then somewhere along the word the connotation changed.
Out of time, time out, wasted time, time to say good bye...

I want to go back to when a good time was something to look forward to. When Deep Thoughts were something to laugh at on Saturday Night Live. When the song (I've had) The Time Of My Life...was something to bring about a cheerier mood.

But time....is always moving even when we feel we are not.

Time can't be made up once it is gone.

But there really is no time like the present and even when it starts to count against us..somehow we have to make the best of the time we have.

03 July 2008

Stressed.

Beyond Stressed.
I haven't slept now in two days. I have been on Kitten Watch.
My beloved Sherlock and beloved Mozart were neutered. A usual procedure.
But it appears that Baby Sherlock is having major complications. I'm devesated.
He's got an appointment for today. He appears to be in pain, aggressive (he is super sweet so this is so out of his nature) thumping his tail...just know he's hurtin.
He only seems to sleep for an hour at a time..and just can't seem to get comfortable.
Mozart seems to be having bad dreams...almost like he woke up during surgery.
So I'm beyond stressed.
This is Sherlock

UPDATE:
Baby Sherlock has a post op infection in his bowels. So now we have antibotics, muscle relaxers and pain killers.
If he doesn't turn around by Saturday he goes back.
I *might* be able to get some sleep tonight...two days without is starting to catch up with me.

Update again:
Baby Sherlock went back on Saturday and was not better. His temp was now at 103.
The doctor now has me administering two antibotics as well as a pain killer.
This combo seems to working the best although his temp keeps spiking.
So I have to keep giving his meds in timed intervals which means no sleep or very little. I think since last Wednesday I have gotten maybe 3 to 4 hours that's it.
His next appointment is 7-9. Hopefully he will be completely turned around.
Thanks my dearest Scribe for being a sounding wall. It means the world to me right now.**

--------------------
Update as of 7-12-08

Well, it's a double edge sword.

I'm devestated.

Baby Sherlock is only 10 months old. He has a diesase that can be fatal--and is contagious.

He did tested negative for:

Negative Feline Leuk.

Negative Feline HIV

Negative ERLSA

Positive FIP

However, the FIP diagnosis doesn't mean he has that. It could mean he has the spin off which is the Corona Virus.

It is going to be a long haul. I'm crushed because even with all we do we could still lose him in the end. Hopefully he will continue to eat and drink.

So better he is not. Better I am not.

Devestated I am.

29 June 2008

We don't need no education.....

All and all it's just another brick in the wall....
I need to build a stronger wall around me. I did take the exam today..do I think I passed it? Well myself and my classmates think we did not...but we have to wait until September 28th to find out that result. This is torture..So to keep myself from going into a severe depression I'm trying to be focused on other things....
:(

26 June 2008

Do You Smell That? It's Your RIGHTS burning.

Are you paying attention? Check out what the Supreme Court of the United States has done...sadly...yet another reason why we need a Dem as the next President.

23 June 2008

Humor Silenced Again.

Sad news, George Carlin dead at 71. He used to make me laugh with the 7 words that can't be used on radio and TV. And his weather reports and wine O DJ.
Sadly, another great humorous voice is silent.

19 June 2008

Thank you Sweden!

Nothing...absolutely NOTHING left to prove.
My Beloved Red Wings who were all but counted out the beginning of last season have now proven all the ANALysts wrong.
Not only did my Beloved Wings win the Stanley Cup...
But they also took home these honors:
President's Trophy for the best record of the season.
Western Conference trophy for being the best in the West.
William M. Jennings Trophy..thank you Osgood and Hasek
Zetterberg MVP of the playoffs...
My Beloved Nick...Norris again for the Best Defensemen...
Datsyuk--Selke (although I think Zetterberg could have gotten this one too)
And Dats for Lady Bing (best sportsmanship)
More shiny silver trophies than even we know what to do with.
But The Wings, criticized, laughed at, and the comments of "their too old"...well.
They are the Stanley Cup Champions...bite me!
It wasn't a cake walk. Although sweeping the Av's in 4 was nice :D
The Pengs were a good team but at least from this side of the igloo I think too much was put on the shoulders of Crosby. He is not mature enough to lead his team but that does not take away that he will be a great hockey player. But I am sick of seeing him in commercials for everything including Gatorade.
I think he overshadowed some of the other players on the Pengs who I thought were better. Most notably..Malkin (sp) and Hossa.
Did I go to the parade??? Of course 101 degrees wouldn't keep me away...and I have the sun burn to go with it...dang 80+ sunblock. But it was worth it for pictures like this...I purposely darkened it because internet picture thieves. But I have about many pictures from the parade, may pictures of players and even of one I befriended..that's a story for another day.

When all is said and done.....

While I was externing I did come to care for a few of my patients routinuely. However, I wasn't prepared for what happened one day.
It was a usual afternoon, I'd take the patient to their room after going through their vitals.
One patient in particular we'll call Mrs. Q. Mrs. Q was a very sweet elderly lady. She was coming in to have her bandages changed on a wound. I have been changing her bandages for almost a week now. Mrs. Q. walked back slowely. Taking her vitals which were all normal we had our usual chatter about the weather, the flowers and she had this beautiful necklace on. So we talked about that. After fininishing going through all her vitals I leave the room putting the flag out for the doctor.
So, I move on to my next patient.
And I hear through the wall: Mrs Q.!! Mrs. Q!!!! Hello Mrs. Q!!!!! My co-worker pulled me from the room I was in and took me back to Mrs. Q's room. Where oxygen was being applied. And the emergency team was doing their work.
My Supervisor asked me if Mrs Q was acting ill or anything and I said no we were talking like you and I are now.
After about 20 minutes a code was declared. One you never want to hear.
Because she did not have a DNR...a ventilator was established...yet brain waves were all but nil.
Clinically she is dead.
Then it sank in. I was the last one to talk to her.
I took some time to talk to her family they wanted to know what we talked about. I talked to her husband especially since we talked alot about the necklace (which incidently is missing that this point ;/)
One thing this taught me...is:
Everyone, please make sure you have your "Advance Directives" done or whatever is valid in your state as to the "extremes" you want done to preserve your life.
In this field I guess I have to get used to this...but I must say...I don't think there will ever be a day I'm used to being the last one spoken too.
